Flexible Respite Support According to Your Needs
Temporary Care Solutions for NDIS Participants and Their Families
At Alaska Care, we provide short-term respite support for NDIS participants and their carers, offering a break from daily routines while ensuring consistent, safe, and compassionate care. Whether it’s for a few hours, overnight, or several days, our respite services help maintain stability and quality of life both for those who receive care and those who provide it.
Our services are delivered in accordance with each participant’s approved NDIS plan and can be customised based on your unique goals, preferences, and family needs.
What Is Respite Care?
Respite care is short-term support that allows a participant’s regular carer to take a break. It ensures that the person with disability continues to receive safe and appropriate care while their primary support person rests, attends appointments, manages responsibilities, or simply recharges.
Under the NDIS, respite may fall under Short-Term Accommodation (STA) and be included in your Core Supports funding, if it is deemed reasonable and necessary.
Our Respite Services Include:
- Short-Term Accommodation (STA):
Stay in a supported setting designed for safety, comfort, and social engagement. This may include overnight or multi-day stays depending on your plan.
- In-Home Respite Support:
A trained support worker comes to your home to provide temporary assistance while your usual caregiver is away.
- Planned or Emergency Respite:
Services can be booked in advance or arranged urgently, depending on your circumstances and available funding.
- Flexible Duration:
From a few hours to several days, we customise respite periods based on your needs and availability.
Who Can Access This Support?
- Participants with an approved NDIS planthat includes Short-Term Accommodation or similar support.
- Families and informal carersseeking scheduled breaks or coverage during personal commitments.
- Participants who require consistent carewhen their regular caregiver is unavailable.
If you’re unsure about your eligibility, we can work with you and your support coordinator to understand your plan and explore your options.
