Creating Engaging Experiences for Participants with Approved NDIS Plans
At Alaska Care, we believe that shared experiences and meaningful social interaction are vital for building confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Our group centre-based activities are designed to support participants with approved NDIS plans in connecting with others, learning new skills, and enjoying engaging, structured experiences in a safe and inclusive environment.
Whether you’re looking to try something new, build friendships, or work on your personal development goals, our team is here to help create opportunities that align with your interests and needs.
Group Centre-Based Activities are part of the supports available to NDIS participants under Core Supports or Capacity Building. These activities offer structured, supervised environments where individuals can participate in group learning, creative exploration, and recreational programs.
Our team at Alaska Care works with participants and their families to develop activity plans that match individual preferences, while always working within the scope of the participant’s NDIS plan.
We host a wide variety of programs to help you discover, grow, and enjoy time with others. These may include:
Each activity is structured to suit a wide range of abilities, preferences, and energy levels. Our support workers are trained to offer guidance, encouragement, and assistance while promoting independence and personal achievement.
At Alaska Care, we understand that everyone’s journey is different. That’s why our programs are flexible and customised to the participant’s approved plan goals. We regularly check in to make sure the activities are meaningful, enjoyable, and aligned with each individual’s development.
Our group centre-based programs are about more than just entertainment—they offer real-world benefits such as enhanced communication, increased motivation, and the opportunity to form lasting friendships.
All group sessions are delivered in supportive, inclusive environments where participants can feel safe and respected. We maintain small group sizes, accessible venues, and a culture of respect and understanding.
Our team encourages participation but also recognises when a quieter, more gradual approach is needed. We’re here to support each individual in finding what works best for them.
If you or someone you care for is an NDIS participant with approved funding for social and community participation, we’d love to talk about how our group centre-based activities can support your goals.
